President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that he was not afraid of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Idris.
The President said this while responding to a question on Arise TV on why he was yet to let the police boss go on retirement having concluded his tenure.
IGP Idris’ stay at the office has generated a lot of controversies having crossed the retirement age of 60.
Claims from the opposition political parties have also suggested that President Buhari was keeping the IG in order to use him to carry out electoral malpractice in February.
Buhari mocking those who had threatened to take action against him if he refused to remove the IG, said that he would take a decision soon.
According to President Buhari, “I don’t think I am afraid of him. And I don’t think I have asked him to mount roadblocks in place such that I’ll lose revenue (if he goes). But I’ll take action.”
