Pandemonium nearly broke out on the University of Ilorin campus due to a confrontation between students union leader, Lukman Shobowale, and the sub-dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Tajudeen Ajiboye.
The incident happened at the Computer Based Test (CBT) centre around noon today.
Shobowale, popularly known as Eminent, was said to have made efforts to intercede on behalf of students of the College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Oke Oyi, who were unable to take their tests.
He was reported to have said that he wished the students could complete their tests and return to COHS because of the distance.
COHS is about twenty minutes drive from the CBT centre.
The SU president said he was appealing to the CBT operatives to look into the situation of the COHS students when Ajiboye lashed at him.
This prompted the students to act. However, their efforts were suppressed effectively by the school officers, who immediately swung into action.
Similarly, a riot nearly broke out a few weeks ago at the new school park after a commercial bus driver hit a student [with his bus] during rush hour.
